We cut these acetate optical frames from cellulose acetate sheet, build them full-rim, and finish them in a translucent brown that looks deeper inside the shop and turns almost honey-colored when the light hits it. They work for men and women, and they fit most faces. More importantly for you - they sell without you having to push hard.

One practical note on size. If your market has larger heads - Scandinavia, parts of the US - tell us before we cut samples. Changing the front by 2–3 mm at the mold stage costs nothing. After tooling, it's a different story.
Why Acetate?
We've made TR90, stainless, and titanium. For a core line, we still push most new clients toward acetate. Simple reasons. It's dense enough to take daily adjustments at the dispensing table without cracking. Color sits differently - layered, translucent, tortoise - the way injected plastic never can. And the final polish is done by hand, so what the customer feels in the shop actually feels like something.
There's a trade-off. Acetate costs more to make than TR. The sheets need 8–12 weeks of curing before we can even start cutting. Plan your seasons with that in mind.
How Each Frame Is Made
No secrets. Every acetate optical frame we ship goes through the same process we've run for years:
- Sheet selection - color depth, thickness, and surface matched to the approved sample.
- Cutting - fronts and temple blanks cut to the drawing.
- CNC - contours, lens grooves, bridge, and temples milled to ±0.1 mm.
- Forming - heat plus hand adjustment to final curve.
- Tumbling and polishing - 72 hours in the tumbler, then hand polish. This is where cheap factories save time. We don't.
- Assembly - hinges set, temples mounted, alignment checked by hand.
- Demo lenses fitted and edge clearance checked.
- Final inspection - dimensions, symmetry, surface, hinge action. Then packed.
Custom Eyewear - What's Realistic
Custom acetate optical frames are a big part of the work here. In practice, a custom eyewear project means:
- Color or pattern matched to your reference or Pantone
- Polished, matte, or mixed finish
- Logo on the temple - laser or metal inlay
- Your own packaging
- Demo, prescription-ready, or coated lenses
OEM and ODM both run. One thing to be clear about: a new custom color is not a one-week job. The sheet has to be produced and cured first, so a fresh colorway usually adds 4–6 weeks before sampling even starts. Buyers who know this plan ahead. The ones who don't learn it the hard way.
Wholesale Terms, MOQ & Lead Times
We keep wholesale terms simple.
- Stock colors: MOQ 100 pcs per model, 300 pcs per order.
- Custom colors: MOQ 300 pcs per color.
- Samples: 7–10 days for stock styles. A charge applies, refunded against your first bulk order.
- Bulk production: 45–60 days after sample approval, depending on the season.
- Reorder clients get priority on the schedule. That's how we keep shelves full through Q4.
Quality Control
Every frame - stock, private label, or custom - goes through the same checks: surface under light for scratches and color consistency, symmetry and dimensions against spec, hinge torque, temple alignment and opening force, groove precision, polish quality, then a full check at packing. Frames for EU and US markets are made to CE and FDA requirements. Test reports are available with the order.
How to Order
Send an inquiry with your specs or a reference photo. We confirm the technical details and quote. Samples go out in 7–10 days. You approve. Bulk production with in-process checks. Final inspection. Shipment. From first email to goods on the water usually runs 60–75 days.
FAQ
Can I get this frame in my own brand packaging?
Yes. Boxes, cases, cloths, and inserts can all carry your branding. Send the artwork and we'll confirm placement before sampling.
Is acetate hypoallergenic?
Cellulose acetate is plant-based and contains no nickel in the frame material itself, so it's a solid choice for sensitive skin. The hinges are nickel silver. If you need strict nickel-free, ask about alternative hardware.
What's the real difference between cheap acetate frames and these?
Curing time and polishing. Under-cured sheet can warp within a year, especially in hot climates. Skipped tumbling leaves machining marks you can feel. Both show up later as returns, not as line items on a quote.
Can I mix colors in one order?
yes - mix freely. Custom colors are per-color MOQ because each sheet run is dedicated.
Do you keep stock for fast reorders?
We hold running stock on our ten best sellers, this model included. Stock orders ship in about two weeks.
