These custom round other acetate sunglasses combine a softly rounded frame shape with translucent olive-green acetate and dark polarized lenses. We keep this model on the site as a reference style, and there's a reason for that - the frame does half the selling before any customization comes into the picture. 

 

The shape is a classic round with the corners taken off. Not a perfect circle. A perfect circle can read a little theatrical on some faces; this one just sits there and works, which is exactly what you want when you're building a line for retail shelves rather than a lookbook.

 

The material is translucent acetate, and that's the part worth slowing down for. Light passes through the temple when you hold it up to a window. The olive green doesn't change with the angle - it stays put - but the frame looks alive in a way painted plastic never manages. Anyone who's handled both materials side by side knows the difference in about two seconds, and that difference is what separates a twelve-dollar sunglass from a forty-dollar one.

Every season somebody asks us for a "new" shape. Fair enough. But round frames keep coming back because the market never had to learn them. A vintage or lifestyle collection built on an unfamiliar silhouette is a bet. Built on round, it's less of one. Sell-through is steadier, returns are lower, and the frame leaves room to move on color and finish without anyone touching the mold.

Color Development - Where Projects Actually Slow Down

Olive green is our stock color. From there we can develop smoke green, amber, brown, tortoise, or a color that's yours alone.

Now, you have to known: a Pantone number is a direction, not a result. The card is ink on paper. Acetate is translucent, so the real sample never matches the card - and a camera makes it worse. The final decision happens on a physical acetate sample, and that usually takes two to three rounds over three to four weeks. We don't shortcut this. Shortcut it and the bulk goods arrive looking like somebody else's order.

A buyer from the Netherlands once sent us a Pantone number for what he called "army green." The acetate sample came back too grey. Second round hit it. He told us later the two extra weeks were cheaper than one cancelled order - and we've quoted him on that ever since

Lenses, Logo, Packaging

Once the color is settled, everything else is branding. TAC polarized comes as standard, non-polarized on request. The logo goes on the temple by printing, metal plate or laser engraving - depends on the look you're going for. Packaging runs from plain neutral boxes to full branded sets with cases and cloths.

Lens spec and logo follow, then a full pre-production sample lands on your desk. Once you approve it, the version is frozen and production runs thirty to forty-five days with a full inspection before anything ships. Simple, and boring in the right way.
