Last week we shipped a mixed-material LCL consignment to an eyewear partner in Australia: 120 cartons, 36 frames in each, 4,320 pieces in total. The range spans acetate, TR90 and titanium, handled by one factory and documented on a single packing list.

This is the part of private label eyewear manufacturing that rarely shows up in catalog photos. A wide assortment usually means multiple specialist factories, separate sampling rounds, and several QC standards to track. This buyer wanted the whole private label eyewear program under one roof, so our team ran material development, sampling, production scheduling, packaging proofing, inspection and dispatch as a single project. One assortment sheet to review. One contact person when something needs attention. The same QC team checks all three material lines against the same tolerances.

Custom packaging ran alongside the frames

Every piece in this consignment left the factory retail-ready: printed color box, microfiber pouch, cleaning cloth, sunglass strap, custom hangtag, instruction card and warranty card.

The client sent brand guidelines - colors, logo placement, paper stock - and we handled packaging sourcing, proofing and production in parallel with the frames. Custom sunglasses packaging adds roughly a week to the schedule, mostly for proofing rounds; starting it early is a big part of what kept the total lead time at 45 days. If you are weighing retail packaging against polybag-only costs, our guide on how to budget for custom sunglasses packaging - channel first, cost second walks through the decision.

Tested to the Australian standard, for this order

For the Australian market, the sunglasses in this shipment were tested to AS/NZS 1067.1:2016, the joint Australian and New Zealand standard for sunglasses and fashion spectacles, with lens categories set per the order. The optical frames shipped with plano lenses.

Buyers often ask whether this test covers every order we make. It covers this order, bound for this destination. Compliance work in our factory follows the destination market and each client's requirements, PO by PO - a private label eyewear program for Australia gets Australian testing; one for another market gets its own.

Lead time: about 45 days

From PO confirmation to dispatch took about 45 days on this order. Mixed-material runs take longer than single-material production because each line has its own schedule, and the packaging proofing sits on top.

If you are planning a private label eyewear range, in one material or several, send us your assortment sheet. We will come back with a sample timeline and a volume and weight estimate for the shipment.
